CASSANDRA
Cassandra was the daughter of Priam, the last king of Troy, and Hecuba.
Apollo was so taken with Cassandra's beauty that he promised her the eternal power of prophecy
in return for her favors. Cassandra refused to give Apollo what he wished for after receiving her
powers, though, which upset Apollo. In return, he made it that her prophecies would be forever useless
and that nobody would ever believe them.
The most notable prophecy came into play when Cassandra warned the Trojans about the wooden horse. Nobody believed her
and she was considered a mad woman. Cassandra was eventually taken as a slave and mistress by Agamemnon and taken away to Greece where
both were killed by Agamemnon's jealous wife, Clytemnestra.
