For many reasons one could consider Ares connected with fertility. He is known to be a ladies man and if you look and the list of women he has been with and the long list of children you will understand. He has been with over 35 women that we can actually trace back with some sort of documentation. He was never married. Loved women but apparently he did not want anything to do with commitment. Out of all of his affairs he had at least 33 children that can be counted and named.
Ares loved Aphrodite and the two had twin sons, Deimos and Phobus and one daughter, Harmonia. Althought Aphrodite was a married woman she continued her affair with Ares until her husband, Hephaestus prepared a trap for them. This trap worked very well. He fixed a large net above the bed and the next time they layed in it together the net sprang down on them trapping them there until Hephaestus came to let them out. He tortured and ridiculed them in front of all the Gods that would come watch only letting Ares go when he agreed to pay a fine.
Ares seemed to have all the luck with women yet he wasn't a very nice person and as you check out the other links to this page you will start to see why.
